Wood U Waste is a registered charity with the Charity Commission and Companies House. Our registered charity number is 1140367 and the Companies House number for Wood U Waste Ltd is 06911553.

We currently have three experienced trustees to support us and Debbie Hewitt is the company and charity secretary.

Wood U Waste came into being in the Stroud district in 2009 to make wooden briquettes from local waste sawdust to help heat homes off the gas network . Its success paid testimony to the many organisations, community groups and individuals who worked with us. In 2009 we won the an award from the NEA ( National Energy Agency) for our innovative briquette project to help to heat homes that were off the gas network.

The briquette project closed in 2013 and was largely inactive for 5 years. Since 2018 WUW has extended its reach beyond the UK to work in France and various countries in Africa.
Wood U Waste has provided over £50,000 of funding to run our various projects focussed on using natural resources such as water and sun energy to the maximum and providing sustainable food sources through care for the natural local environment.
